Innopower got the financing of special funds for independent innovation again
2007-7-27 | Once again, our company has been awarded the fund of "2007 Technology R & D funds for independent innovation" by Beijing Science and Technology Commission, following receiving the same grant in 2006. This award attests our independent innovation achievements and inspires us to accomplish more in R & D of superconducting electric power applications and independent intellectual property rights.
Innopower began the preliminary studies of superconducting fault current limiter as the research of HTS went on. In 2004, Innopower started to explore the superconducting fault current limiter with saturated core, and a single-phase prototype was completed that year. In 2005, a three-phase experimental prototype was developed, and a series of performance tests confirmed the current-limiting function.
Based on the early results, "35kV Superconducting Fault Current Limiter prototype" was listed in "Tianjin special fund for scientific and technological innovation project" and "Yunnan scientific and technological project". The R & D of "220kV/800A HTS Fault Current Limiter" also received the support from the 863 plan of “the Eleventh Five-Year Plan" in December 2006. It is expected to complete the test of 35kV prototype in June 2007, and the research of the 220kV Superconducting Fault Current Limiter would be finished in 2009.
At present, Innopower Corp. has completed all sub-components of the 35kV Superconducting Fault Current Limiter prototype. A test was done after the installation. It shows that 35kV Superconducting Fault Current Limiter prototype has met the design requirements and performed well. It is a top-notch product in the field of superconducting current-limiting research. The 35kV Superconducting Fault Current Limiter prototype is expected to be used in Phuket Substation. It would be the highest test run-level voltage superconducting current limiter in the world.
